Amgen scholars summer program for undergraduate students
This is a program that targets undergraduate students, providing them an
opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research opportunities in
participating leading institutions.
Selected undergraduate students get to benefit from undertaking any
research project under the guidance of a research scientist, participate
in seminars and networking events and learn about biotechnology from
leading scientists. (Note: applicants need not be biology major students)

Commonwealth master’s scholarships
The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is currently accepting
applications from citizens of Commonwealth countries for the Commonwealth
Master’s Scholarships program.

Applicants should be holders of at least a Bachelors degree of at least
second upper class.

Scholarships are tenable in Bangladesh, Botswana, Ghana, Pakistan, Rwanda,
Swaziland, Tanzania and West Indies.

Call for applications: ARPPIS – DAAD PhD Scholarships
Applications are invited for the ARPPIS-DAAD PhD Scholarships.

12 scholarships are available to nationals of sub-Saharan countries

The scholarships cover all costs of the PhD programme, including travel,
living expenses, medical insurance, university fees and all research and
training costs.

Africa food prize
Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa

This recognises an individual or institution whose contributions to
African agriculture are forging a new era of sustainable food security and
economic opportunity for all Africans. The prize is worth USD 100,000.

Saving lives at birth – a grand challenge for development
Grand Challenges Canada

This supports groundbreaking prevention and treatment approaches for
pregnant women and newborns in poor, hard-to-reach communities around the
time of childbirth.
Funding is worth up to USD 900,000 for up to two years.

Enhancing capacity for strategic and applied research activities in
support of control and elimination of malaria and neglected tropical
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

This supports critical implementation projects, with a focus on
sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Haiti, under components A and B: malaria and
neglected tropical diseases respectively. Up to four grants are available,
each worth up to USD 8.3 million for five years.

Kenya jobs for youth programme
Department for International Development
The tenderer will develop an innovative, market-led youth employment
programme that seeks to improve economic opportunities for youth in Kenya.
High-potential projects receive an initial grant of up to £100,000 each
over nine to 12 months.
