In accordance to Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap 15, Laws of Kenya, The University Staff members have been scheduled to go through a vetting process which has begun with the ICT and front office departments.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi spoke passionately to staff members urging them to uphold Integrity, freedom of expression, team spirit and professionalism in accordance to the Core values of the University .He said that the University is made up of each and every individual and service should be delivered with the brand of the institution in mind. He urged each individual to be responsible and accountable to their respective duties.
Prof. Mbithi said that the management is ready and willing to support the staff members in their entire endeavor at the University of Nairobi.
The Oath that was taken by the staff members is binding them to confidentiality when it comes to matters of the institution during the time they work here and even after.
Apart from the Vice Chancellor, who witnessed the staff members taking the oath, the Registrar, Dr. Dismus Bulinda and the legal officers were also present.
