The Varsity’s 6th open day has kicked off; taking place at the Great Court, Main Campus from April 28-April 30, 2016.
The three day event has seen all the departments of the University from all the colleges and all the programs displayed and explained in detail. The open day targets the general public, anyone who is interested in studying at the University and/or knowing more about the products and services offered by the University.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi emphasized the importance of open days and said that they give faculty staff the opportunity to interact with prospective students and the public at large, sharing the University’s academic programmes, research outputs and services.
He said, through the open day, the University is making a statement about the quality of services rendered to the public and this is evident in the readiness to display for public scrutiny the products and services offered.
Together with the University, the stakeholders and partners have come out and are also exhibiting their products and services. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (formerly known as JAB), The Standard and Kenya Commercial Bank are among the partners that are participating in the Open Day.
Those that have expressed their interest in joining the University have been able to apply immediately through the online application system for self-sponsored students.
The three day event is a culmination of the regional open days held on earlier this year in Eldoret, Meru, Kisii and Mombasa counties.
