The US Embassy in partnership with the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC), is to launch ‘niShow Power’ on the 15th of May, 2016 at University of Nairobi, Chancellor’s Court from 2:00 pm to 8:00pm.
‘niShow power’ translated as “Show me your power” is a new youth voter registration and information campaign that will target young people around the nation. The campaign is aimed at sensitizing the youth on exercising their democracy and restraining from violence. The campaign will be launched through a concert where local Kenyan artists like Juliani; Khaligraph Jones; Octopizzo; Sarabi; Sauti Sol; Team Courage, and; GoodTimes Africa will be performing.
The youth will have a chance of being educated on how to vote and the importance of exercising their democracy.
The IEBC will be registering voters from the 17 constituencies in Nairobi. The only requirement is a national Identity card.
Important Note: While the concert is free of charge, everyone who attends must have a valid ticket in advance. Tickets can be booked and printed on-line at www.nishowpower.com or through the niShowPower Facebook page. No one will be admitted without a valid ticket.
