UoN through its college of Education and External studies and the college of Humanities and Social Sciences has received first years for the Academic calendar 2017/2018.
The first years have been reporting since Monday, January 9, 2017.
The orientation week that is meant to assist the students settle down and adjust to the new life with ease has commenced. Various aspects that will form part of the student’s lifestyle during their stay in the University will be addressed.
According to the Academic Registrar, Mr. Ben Waweru, the orientation will to a large extent be college based with students being exposed in detail to the facilities in their respective colleges and campuses and in general to those of the entire University.
The highlight of the orientation week is the address by University officials and the final address by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 2.30pm at the Great Court, Main Campus, which all freshers are expected to attend.
According to the academic calendar, Monday, January 16, 2017 is the commencement date for fourth year students (K.C.S.E. 2012) in the Colleges of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, Architecture and Engineering, Biological and Physical Sciences, School of Education, B.Sc. Biochemistry and B.Sc. Medical Lab. Tech. Second year students (K.C.S.E. 2014) in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and second year and third year students in the School of Education (who are commencing their second semester) will also report on that day.
Fourth year students in College of Health Sciences (except B.Sc. Biochem & Medical Lab. Tech.) will report on March 27, 2017.
