How to disagree agreeably is the topic the Kenyan born Australian Senator Lucy Gichuhi spoke on while delivering a public lecture  at the University of Nairobi, Chandaria Auditorium, UoN towers on  January 18, 2018.

Senator Gichuhi spoke so eloquently and passionately on unity in diversity. She urged kenyan leaders to uphold integrity while in office and preach unity. 

"Australia has over 200 spoken languages and yet the country is united, I wonder how much more Kenya can achieve with its 43 tribes." She urged kenyan leaders to seek to understand the other party before being understood. This, will show respect between the two parties. She mentioned that Australia has democracy but it is big on integrity. She urged the Kenyan leaders to benchmark with the leadership in Australia especially when it comes to integrity and accountability.  

"I say No to same sex marriages, fashion bullies, identity politics and changing my accent," She said while emphasizing on the issue of taking a stand and sticking by it. She also challenged the women to enhance their skills at what they are passionate about to increase their employability vis-a-vis being employed because of gender. 

Senator Gichuhi advised kenyan parents to allow their children to mingle and shun trabalism. She gave an example of the school  she went to for her O level, taught her how to live with kenyans from different tribes and prepared her for the global platform. 

Senator Lucy with the Australian commission will work with the University of Nairobi to enable students to go for internship in Australia and vice versa.
